Balance, Bones & Breath

Build strength. Find steadiness. Support your bones.

As we age, so should the way we move. This series helps you evolve your yoga practice with the needs of your body. As we move through midlife and beyond, it’s natural to notice changes in our strength, balance, and mobility. Over time, we naturally lose some muscle mass and stability — changes that influence how steady we feel and how well we support our bones. The good news is that we can influence so much of this. With intentional movement and alignment-based guidance, we can stay strong, steady, and confident as we move through midlife and beyond. And because awareness and breath shape how we move, this series weaves both into each practice to help you feel steady, grounded, and connected.

Why This Practice Matters

Balance, Bones & Breath helps you develop the strength and steadiness that support you in daily life and empower you to keep doing the activities you love — now and in the years ahead.

Whether you’re dealing with bone health concerns or just want to proactively reduce your risk of injury, the course offers essential strategies for everyone. (If you do have osteoporosis or have already had fractures, be sure to check with your doctor to see what precautions to take and movements to avoid.)

What participants are saying:

Having osteoporosis has changed how I practice, and it can feel scary and overwhelming. Anita made complex information about alignment and safety feel simple, clear, and even fun. Each session built on the last, and by the end I felt confident, supported, and able to return to a practice I truly love.

I joined this series hoping to learn ways to support my bone health, and I finished with so much more — strength, stability, and confidence in how I move. The postures and practices have become part of my weekly (and often daily) routine, and I feel more balanced and strong. I highly recommend this series to anyone who wants to age with greater ease and physical functionality.”

Why I teach this work

As a nurse, health coach, and yoga teacher, I’ve seen how strength, balance, and confidence shape a woman’s well-being — especially in midlife. But this work became deeply personal after I broke a bone at 52 and was diagnosed with osteoporosis. That experience changed how I moved and practiced yoga, and it inspired me to complete a 75-hour Yoga for Osteoporosis training to better understand safe, functional movement.

My goal now is to help women feel informed, supported, and empowered — not fearful or limited. Balance, Bones & Breath brings together what I’ve learned professionally and personally to help you move with confidence, steadiness, and trust in your body.
