Balance, Bones & Breath
Build awareness, strength, and stability from the inside out and support your bones.
As we age, so should the way we move. This series helps you evolve your yoga practice with the needs of your body. As we move through midlife and beyond, it’s natural to notice changes in our strength, balance, and mobility. Over time, we naturally lose some muscle mass and power — changes that influence how steady we feel and how well we support our bones. The good news is that we can influence so much of this. With intentional movement and alignment-based guidance, we can stay strong, steady, and confident as we move through midlife and beyond. And because awareness and breath shape how we move, this series weaves both into each practice to help you feel steady, grounded, and connected.
Why This Practice Matters
Balance, Bones & Breath helps you develop the strength and steadiness that support you in daily life and empower you to keep doing the activities you love — now and in the years ahead.
How This Series Is Different From a Regular Yoga Class
Balance, Bones & Breath is part yoga class, part workshop. Each session blends mindful movement with focused education to support your strength, stability, and long-term bone health. We’ll build stability from the ground up — starting with focused work for the feet and ankles — and connect that foundation to the glutes and core for stronger, more confident movement. We’ll incorporate gentle impact work, use resistance bands to build functional strength, and keep chairs available for support if you have balance concerns or simply prefer extra stability.

Why I teach this work
As a nurse, health coach, and yoga teacher, I’ve seen how strength, balance, and confidence shape a woman’s well-being — especially in midlife. But this work became deeply personal after I broke a bone at 52 and was diagnosed with osteoporosis. That experience changed how I moved and practiced yoga, and it inspired me to complete a 75-hour Yoga for Osteoporosis training to better understand safe, functional movement.
My goal now is to help women feel informed, supported, and empowered — not fearful or limited. Balance, Bones & Breath brings together what I’ve learned professionally and personally to help you move with confidence, steadiness, and trust in your body.

What People Are Saying
“I attended Anita's "Yoga for Bone Health" series, hoping to learn tips & tricks to aid in my fight against Osteopenia & Osteoporosis. I finished the series with a greater knowledge of which yoga exercises strengthen my bones and also which ones build stability---so important as we are aging. As a result, I am inspired to keep practicing many of these postures multiple times a week (many of them daily), and since then, I have felt more balanced, stable, & strong. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is striving to age with optimal physical functionality.”
~ Rachel
“I've been doing yoga for a long time, and bone breaks due to osteoporosis have really changed how I practice. Having this diagnosis is scary and overwhelming, and I'm so grateful that Anita made the complex information of how some postures and alignment cues are helpful and why some should be avoided so fun and digestible. Every session built on the one before it, so by the end, I felt like I really knew and remembered what I learned. I feel more confident doing this practice I truly love.”
~ Beth
“Anita’s personal attention to proper alignment made a huge difference. I really appreciated the explanations of why we were doing each pose and how it supports the body and bone health. The series felt welcoming and supportive for beginners as well as those with osteoporosis or concerns about bone health.”
