What if you didn’t have to wait for life to calm down?

Stay Active when Life Gets in the Way

An 11-Day Adaptability Experience for Women in Midlife

You want to stay active. But work, family, changing routines and life itself, have a way of disrupting even the best intentions.

What if consistency wasn't about sticking perfectly to the plan, but learning how to adapt when the plan changes?

October 4-14th ~ $11

Does this sound like you?

  • You start with good intentions, then lose momentum when life gets busy or something unexpected happens.

  • You’re juggling work, family, kids’ schedules, caregiving, household responsibilities. Or simply more demands than seem to fit into a day.

  • You have a picture in your mind of what a “real workout” should look like, and if you can’t do that, you may do nothing.

  • You struggle to adjust your plans when you’re tired, short on time, traveling, caregiving, dealing with a demanding week, or simply having a different kind of day.

  • You go through periods of being active followed by periods when physical activity falls away.

  • You feel frustrated because you’ve been more active in the past and wonder, “Why can’t I seem to do this anymore?”

  • You know that walking, ten minutes, stretching, or a few exercises are better than nothing, but still have trouble believing those things really “count.”

  • You tend to put physical activity and sometimes yourself, at the bottom of the list when everyone and everything else needs your attention.

  • You’ve tried schedules, goals, classes, fitness plans, or promises to yourself, but haven’t necessarily learned how to adapt when the plan doesn’t work.

Life might not be calming down anytime soon.

Work, family, caregiving, changing schedules, unexpected demands; there may always be something competing for your time and attention.

It’s easy to tell yourself, I’ll get back to being active when things settle down. But what if staying active didn’t depend on everything going according to plan?

Adaptability offers another way.

Instead of giving up when the original plan no longer works, you can learn to adjust; to work with the time, energy, and circumstances you have today.

Over these 11 days, you’ll explore practical ways to become more flexible in how you think about physical activity, respond to obstacles, and keep finding your way back to something that matters to you.

You don’t need a perfectly predictable life to stay active. You need more ways to adapt when life changes the plan.

What you’ll experience over 11 days

This is a guided experience designed to help you explore adaptability in your own life, one day, one idea, and one small experiment at a time.

We’ll Begin Together
On Day 1, we’ll meet virtually to explore your why: Why does being physically active matter to you at this point in your life? We’ll reflect on where you are now, what may have changed, and what you want physical activity to make possible in the years ahead.

10 Days of Adaptability
Each morning, you’ll receive a short email introducing one practical way to become more adaptable in how you approach physical activity. We’ll explore ideas like letting go of perfection, redefining what “counts,” anticipating obstacles, building confidence through small wins, and learning to keep starting again.

Reflection + Real-Life Experiments
Each day will include a simple reflection or experiment to help you apply that day’s idea to your own life. This isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about noticing, experimenting, and discovering what works for you.

A Private WhatsApp Community
You’ll have the option to connect with other women going through the experience. Share what you’re noticing, learn from how others are adapting, ask questions, or simply follow along.

We’ll Finish Together
On Day 11, we’ll meet virtually again to reflect on what you discovered, what helped, what surprised you, and what you want to carry forward.

A more adaptable way forward

Over these 11 days, you’ll have the opportunity to look at your relationship with physical activity a little differently and begin discovering what consistency can look like when flexibility is part of the plan.

You may begin to:

  • Recognize some of the patterns that have made staying active difficult.

  • Let go of rigid ideas about what physical activity has to look like to “count.”

  • Notice more opportunities to be active within the life you’re already living.

  • Respond to obstacles with greater flexibility instead of abandoning your plans altogether.

  • Build confidence through small, achievable successes.

  • Become more comfortable adjusting your plans when your time, energy, or circumstances change.

  • Think about consistency differently; not as doing everything according to plan, but as adapting, returning, and beginning again.

The goal isn’t to have the next 11 days go perfectly. It’s to leave with more ways to respond when they don’t.

Why I created this

I’ve always understood how important it is to stay physically active. For much of my life, being active came fairly naturally to me, and I probably underestimated just how difficult it can become when life changes.

Then I reached midlife.

Between work, caregiving, menopause, changes in my body, and periods when I simply felt stretched too thin, staying active became more complicated. There were times when I found myself frustrated and wondering why something that had once been such a natural part of my life had become so difficult to sustain.

Over time, my perspective began to shift.

I realized that I didn’t necessarily need to get back to the way I used to do things. I needed to become better at adapting; to my life, my body, my energy, and the circumstances of the day.

That realization has deeply influenced my work as a health and wellness coach and the way I think about helping women stay physically active in midlife.

Stay Active When Life Gets in the Way grew out of that understanding.

Because life may not become less complicated. Our bodies and circumstances will continue to change. But we can learn to become more flexible in how we respond and find ways to keep moving forward.

Meet your guide

Hi, I’m Anita Romero, a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, registered nurse, and yoga teacher and the founder of Growth & Grit Health & Wellness.

I help women in midlife develop a more confident, sustainable relationship with physical activity, especially when changing bodies, busy lives, and unexpected circumstances make staying active more complicated than it used to be.

My approach brings together evidence-informed health coaching, behavior change science, mindfulness, and more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. Rather than focusing on perfection or prescribing a one-size-fits-all plan, I help women become more aware of what works for them, build confidence through small successes, and find realistic ways to stay connected to their health and well-being.

I created Stay Active When Life Gets in the Way to give women an accessible place to begin.
